Salvage
Windblown, sick, dead
and dying trees as well as trees fallen for way of development
roads, etc...are eagerly collected, processed and put into stock
for use in furniture and turning.
Stan has over
35 years of experience with all aspects of timber harvesting,
falling, snigging, transporting, processing, value adding, product
design and marketing.
We use some interesting
machinery in our salvage -- the heart of the operation is a 58
year old ex W.W.II Ford Army Blitz 4wd fitted with 1200x20 floatation
tires, a crane and a 200 hp winch. Logs of up to approximately
15 tons can be winched and logs up to 5 tons can be carried out
of rugged terrain or paddocks.

- 1 x 1.6 meter
wide cut dedicated slabber
- 1 x 250 mm (10") cut circular saw mill
(both with 8 meters of track, giving a cut of 6 meters)
- 1 x 900mm Baker Re Saw Bandsaw
Chainsaws:
Stihl Chainsaws
are used: 026m, 046m, 066m, 090, E220c, all professional saws
to tackle from the smallest to the biggest jobs. 15" to
60" cutter bars.
